Glotis

With the release of his full-length self titled album, Glotis takes a fresh approach to genre clashing to give the record a life all its own. 

As the artist himself puts it, "It's like bedroom pop with anger issues".

Lush with provocative production, a passionate and indie vocal approach, and deep synth overtones, the record boasts the aesthetic of alternative pop anthems.

The first single, “Lola", immediately grabs you with its infectious vocal hook, followed by its building arrangement giving way for a powerful progression. 

"The song is about feeling alone and unsupported by the people in your life, even when you are physical with somebody you have a supposedly close relationship with. It is about being a lone wolf, not by choice but by circumstance. It's feeling like you’re on your own to figure everything out, all the time." explains the songwriter of his single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where Glotis is coming from, it should be heard in its entirety.

"All of the songs on the album have a sort of restless, electric energy about them. This album is the fruit of many late nights up in my apartment, many weekends spent at home, to figure out how to best express myself and my ideas. This is the resulting evolution of my sound over the course of about 4 years of experimentation. And I’m only going to keep evolving from here." says Glotis of creating the record.

After performing as lead vocalist in several local rock-based bands, the artist now known as Glotis went on to embark on a solo journey around the greater United States working with various advertising agencies. It was during that chapter of his life that he began writing and recording his solo material musically as well. From there he came to realizations in creating songs that took him to a more experimental place. 

This excited the songwriter a great deal and the more he decided to go with the flow and write songs how he wanted, the better things ended up. It was then that Glotis was born and the self-titled album came to fruition. The LP is a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.
