Ever Since I can remember music has been a part of my life, whether a favorite TV show theme or tapping my fingers on the dinner table trying to make a catchy beat. Singing Hooks from songs, and rapping lyrics from various artists was a main hobby, I find Music to be a bonding place for all kinds of people from all walks where people can relate one way or another, Expression through voice. Nutrients for the soul.

It wasn’t till High School I realized my singing capabilities. In order for me to graduate I had to pick up some required elective, I didn’t know which one till my eyes automatically glued to “Chorus” it was there I began to truly sing and the love of music exponentially grew. I found it to be entertaining to sing various types of songs with different styles and pitches ways I could challenge my voice and improve it.

After writing personal music for sometime I decided this to be my first  debut single, it embodies love at first sight, that one person you meet in any space or time, lock eyes with, that rush of emotions and excitement, that beating in your chest, convincing with words and actions, let them know that being with you would be the best experience and time that life has to offer.

CBAA Annual Review and Financial Report

The CBAA recognises that community broadcasting is a vital part of the Australian media landscape and we are leaders for the community broadcasting sector. The CBAA philosophy, in accordance with our mission, is to work in the interests of, and for the benefit of the broader community broadcasting sector.

We would like to take this opportunity to share the CBAA Annual Review 2018/2019 and CBAA Financial Report 2018/2019. Presenting these reports is a great way to take the time to reflect on the last 12 months, and fill our members in on the happenings of another busy and exciting year.

Future Delivery of Radio Services in Australia

The CBAA, after consulting with members, Sector Representative Organisations and key stakeholders has made a submission to the ACMA's Future Delivery of Radio Services consultation paper, and is now available to read! Thank you to everyone who provided input into the process.

The CBAA's submission emphasised that any changes to legislation, regulation or how services are broadcast must continue to enshrine key principles for the public good: that there is diversity in terms of media ownership and control, and that a mix of broadcast services remain free-to-receive. We put forward positions in support of options for extending digital radio, and mechanisms to support the future of free-to-air radio in the digital age.

CBAA Amrap Chart News

Sitting at number four on the CBAA Amrap Metro Chart this week is Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Emma Russack, teaming up yet again with one-time member of The Ocean Party, Lachlan Dalton, with their new release Love For Myself. Another artist out of Melbourne, Stella Bridie delivers a heart-on-sleeve style song with Dog Bite, which is placed at number seven on the Chart this week.

Leading the way on the Regional ChartKira Puru shows some gospel vibes mixed in with more modern flavours on Why Don’t We Get Along, doing nicely and sitting at number seven. This year’s Melbourne Blues Challenge Winner, Aaron Pollock, is at number five with Painkiller, a cruisy effort featuring slick guitar playing and a sweet roots groove.

If you are a community broadcaster and looking to find the latest tracks from across the country, get involved with CBAA Amrap's AirIt and start browsing what Australia's independent music scene has to offer!

The CBAA Amrap Charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service in both metropolitan and regional areas of the country.
